Hunger Free Nac Sin Hambre

Better Together is one of several organizations involved in the new Hunger Free Nac Sin Hambre Coalition, which seeks to build collaborative solutions to ensure that everyone in Nacogdoches County has enough healthy food to eat. We have partnered with the Baylor Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty to implement their Hunger Free Community model.

Current efforts are focused on bringing together leaders and learning more about hunger and food access in our community. There are multiple opportunities to get involved and share your voice!

Landscape Analysis

From February to May 2026, members of Hunger Free Nac Sin Hambre, under guidance from Better Together used appreciative inquiry approaches to gather input from our community about the current landscape of food access and food insecurity in our county.

Data was collected through stakeholder surveys, stakeholder interviews, community conversations, and surveys distributed to low-income apartment complexes.

The will review the findings in the summer of 2026, and share what was learned at our Launch event in August 2026.

Save the Date! Hunger Free Nac Sin Hambre LAUNCH

For the past year, Better Together alongside other community partners have been building the Hunger Free Nac Sin Hambre Coalition—a grassroots movement bringing together local organizations, leaders, and residents committed to ending hunger in Nacogdoches County.

In the first half of this year, we asked our community to help us better understand food insecurity in our county. On August 15, we’ll share what we learned and officially launch the Coalition, inviting YOU to be part of the solution.

Help us spread the word and mark your calendar today! Additional details, including time and location, will be announced later this summer. Together, we can build a hunger-free Nacogdoches County.
